We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our Women of Color Golf (WOCG) & Girls on the Green Tee (GOTGT) Advisory Board: World Long Drive Champion and Media Personality, **Troy C. Mullins**!
In 2017, Troy Mullins made history as the first African American woman to win a world long drive tour competition at the Mile High Showdown. Her incredible talent and dedication have earned her the World Record for the Longest Drive by an American Woman, an impressive 402 yards!
Troy's passion for golf knows no bounds. She is determined to make her mark on the LPGA Tour, and we have no doubt that she will achieve her dreams. Her journey is an inspiration to all aspiring golfers, especially women of color who may face unique challenges in the sport.
At WOCG and GOTG-T, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity in golf. Troy's appointment to our Advisory Board reinforces our commitment to providing opportunities and support for women of color in the golfing community. Together, we can break barriers and create a more inclusive future for the sport we love.
Troy Mullins, a graduate of Cornell University, where she majored in China Asia Pacific Studies and International Relations, has an impressive background that sets her apart. Not only is she a seasoned athlete, but she also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. As a former member of the Cornell University Women's Track and Field team, Troy competed as a heptathlete, showcasing her incredible skills in seven different events. From shot-put to javelin, long jump to high jump, 100m hurdle to 200m, and even the 800m, Troy has conquered them all.
What makes Troy's journey even more remarkable is that she followed in the footsteps of her father, Billy Mullins, who held a world record in the '78 400m and qualified for the 1980 U.S. Olympics team. Talk about a family legacy!
With her extensive background in athletics and her passion for empowering others, Troy has become an expert in her field. She is not only a role model for aspiring athletes but also a source of inspiration for anyone looking to achieve their goals and overcome obstacles.
